Ma’ at – The feather & The Scale

Before the stars were named
Before the rivers ran
Before the gods took form
And before the age of man

There was a truth that held
The universe in place
A balance at the center
Of all time and space

She was there before the morning
She will stand beyond the end
Not a ruler — not a conqueror
But the law that will not bend

Seven pillars hold the cosmos
Seven virtues light the way
Truth and Justice — Harmony
Keep the darkness all at bay

Order balance reciprocity
Propriety divine
When the feather meets the heart
Every soul must walk the line

Ma'at keeper of the cosmos
Ma'at the feather and the scale
Ma'at what the stars bow down to
Ma'at the truth that will not fail!!

When the Nile rose in the morning
When the seasons turned to gold
When the gods themselves sought order
It was Ma'at that they were told

She is not a distant power
She lives in every choice we make
Ma'at the law of all creation
Ma'at for every soul at stake!!

The pharaoh on his throne

Bowed to her alone
No crown above her feather
No power carved in stone
The stars that wheel at midnight

The tides that rise and fall
The harvest and the hunger
She is present through it all

Not vengeance — but correction
Not punishment — but right
She does not seek the darkness
She simply IS the light
