I saw my life was changing it seemed from bad to worse,

So I prayed for God to free me from the dismal lifelong curse

I felt the guilt and loneliness of the price we pay for sin

My foolish pride confused my mind as it burned me deep within

The image in my mirror and was a sad and lonely face

I tried to shake the feeling but the look would not erase

The days were hard to get through but the nights were even longer

I couldn’t seem to find anything to make my will be stronger

I prayed dear lord forgive me shine my heart with your light

Please teach me how to make amends so that I could make things right

I woke up every morning hoping my life would end

I had lost my only true love and I had lost my only friend

I thought of all the ones I hurt how could I be so cruel

I had lost the biggest part of me and made myself a fool

Reality snapped me back in place when I found no one was there

So I sat inside my prison cell the night my father died
